Kelly took her PADI open water class after winning a silent charity auction while attending UT in 1993. She quickly took more classes and became a PADI rescue diver in 1994. Loving sharks since doing a report on great whites in the second grade, she's travelled around the world to dive with whale sharks, great whites, reef sharks, nurse sharks, and many other species. Favorite trips include diving with great whites in both South Australia and Guadalupe Island, Mexico as well as Bonaire and Galapagos.
She finally obtained her PADI dive master certification in 2011 and now spends most weekends (and every Wednesday night) during the summer diving the lakes and quarries of Texas and helping with classes and tours from Giant Stride on Lake Travis.
