What You Learn
The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:
- Knowledge Development to understand basic principles of scuba diving
- Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills
- Open Water Dives to review your skills and explore!

Prerequisites
- 10 years of age
- No medical conditions or medical release from physician

Included

Not Included
- Course materials
- Personal snorkeling gear (fins, mask, snorkel, boots range from $100 to $300)
- Park entry fees are paid by the students directly to the dive park on the day of their open water dives ($40 a day for Spring Lake, $15 a day for Windy Point Park)
More Info
- Any student who answers "Yes" to any question on the medical form will need to get a physician's approval before starting class (see page 2 of medical form)
Open Water Course

- Course takes 1 to 2 weeks to complete
- Certification cards are available immediately upon completion
- Evening classes meet Monday - Thursday, 7:00pm - 10:30pm, plus one weekend for the Open Water dives which take about 4 hours each day.
- Weekend classes meet 2 weekends. The first weekend is 10:00am - 6:00pm for class/pool on Saturday and 9:00am - 5:00pm on Sunday. The second weekend is the Open Water dives which take about 4 hours each day.

Private Lessons

Private lessons are designed for individuals with extremely challenging schedules and for those that want to work at their own pace during all phases of instruction. Classroom, pool, and open water checkouts are conducted at the convenience of the participant and can be completed in multiple weeks or in as few as 3 days.
