We pass gas better than anyone in Austin!
Scubaland uses twin Bauer Verticus compressors with Seacurus filter systems. Our modern compressors will not run without a clean filter! Our air is tested quarterly by Trace Analytics based here in the Austin area. We maintain our breathing air systems for modified Grade "E" status, the highest quality of breathing an air used in SCUBA diving.
Our air storage system is a cascade fill systems that stores a whopping 6400 cu ft of 4500 psi clean air and we use every bit of it! We maintain a high pressure fill system in the store, in the repair area, and in our pool area. No matter where you are at Scubaland, you're only a few steps away from a ready supply of clean, high pressure air.
In order to fill a tank we require that it have been hydrostatically tested within the last 5 years, visually inspected with the last year, have a working valve and no visual damage. For your safety and ours any suspect tanks will require testing regardless of their last test dates. We do not over pressurize tanks, regardless of ratings. We will only fill to the working pressure of the tank plus 200 psi to allow for cooling. Our max fill pressure is 3600 psi for high pressure steel tanks.
We also offer a full range of services for our tank toting customers including visual inspections, hydrostatic testing, tumbling and coating, and valve repair/replacement. For our customers that just can't dive on air alone we offer Enriched Air Nitrox fills up to EANx40. Still not enough oxygen? Talk to one of our gas blenders about oxygen cleaning services and fills greater than EANx40. If none of that made sense to you it might be time to enroll in an Enriched Air Diver course. They are offered weekly and guaranteed to turn you green!
Scubaland mixes Nitrox!
Scubaland banks over 3000 cu ft of Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx32)
In 2019 Scubaland brought Nitrox back to Austin, TX in a big way! We invested in a mixing stick and a bank system for Nitrox.
Our system will deliver an EANx32 fill on demand from the banks or a custom fill between EANx21 and EANx40 on direct fill.
Banking and using a mixing system eliminates the need to partial pressure fill EANx mixes. It's faster, easier, safer, and less expensive. Since we no longer partial pressure fill we no longer have to require that tanks are dedicated to Nitrox and Oxygen clean.
We can take any tank - new or used - and convert it to a Nitrox tank in a matter of minutes and then fill it with your preferred mix of EANx. Enriched Air Nitrox divers recognize the benefits of Nitrox and appreciate the convenience that Scubaland's mixing system provides.

Currently our capacity for technical diving fills like EANx80, EANx100, TMX, etc. is limited. Through partial pressure filling we can generate 3000 psi of EANx80 or approximately 2400 psi of EANx100
Our system has the capacity to generate trimix fills. We just need to add the helium. If demand for these services develops in the future then we will invest in the materials and analyzers necessary to provide them.
Stay tuned! We are already evaluating our options for a booster system that will allow us to generate higher pressure EANx100 fills. We will make these investments based on the demand we see in the market.
Presently we are capable of generating EANx100 fills between 2000psi and 2400psi. We charge $1.50 per cubic foot.

Why you should get your fill at a dive store
Breathing is no joke
Do you know what you're breathing? SCUBA divers breathe compressed air at atmospheric pressures that can exceed five times that of atmospheric pressure at the sea level. That means that if you have contaminated air then your breathing five times the amount of contamination you would be breathing as sea level!
SCUBA shops are run by dive professionals who have to breathe the same air you do. Dive stores perform routine maintenance on their compressors and have their air tested regularly. Most importantly, we understand that this is breathing air!
If you're getting your air fills some place other than a dive store you should ask some questions. When was the last time the compressor was serviced? When was the last time the air was tested and what were the results? Most importantly, are you saving enough money on that air fill to put your life at risk?
