Lucas started diving in 1995 as a Junior Diver at the Blue Hole in Santa Rosa, NM. Learning to dive in the desert prompted Lucas and his family to start traveling for diving, logging dives in over a dozen countries including Australia, Fiji, the Galapagos, and throughout the Caribbean and Central America. After moving to southern California he became a Divemaster in 2004, interned with DAN at UCSC in the scientific diving program in 2006, and achieved his PADI Instructor rating in 2007.
For Lucas, in addition to exploring the underwater world, scuba diving provides a sense of calm and mindfulness, and often a much needed escape from the busy world above the surface.
